In this video from Heavenly Fan, we are making Gluten-free Keto Crusty Bread. Many people do not want to consume gluten, so she is has come up with this recipe that is not only gluten-free, but also Vegan and Keto.

We will learn how to make these beautiful and delicious crusty buns. They are crusty on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. This keto bread recipe also does not require any yeast and thus require practically no proving time.

Lets have a look at the ingredients you will be needing. The first and main ingredient is Almond Flour. You do not need special Almond Flour, the regular ground almonds will do just fine. The next ingredient you need is psyllium husks. The type she is using is like fine bread crumbs in texture.

Next up is some sweetener of your choice. Heavenly Fan is using Granulated Stevia for her Keto Crusty Bread recipe. You will also need some salt, baking powder and some vinegar. Once again you can use any kind of vinegar but she is using Apple Cider Vinegar for this recipe. The vinegar will be used to activate the baking powder.

We will also need some fat so you need to get any oil that you would prefer (She is using Olive Oil). Some sesame seeds or any other kind of seed of your choice to sprinkle on top of the bread.

It is time to start making the dough. Before you start though get your kettle ready and boil some water. The first thing to add to a mixing bowl is two cups or 250 grams of Almond Flour. No need to sift it, just pop it straight in. Next in is eight tablespoons or 40 grams of the psyllium husks, which you once again just add in.

Add in two teaspoons of baking powder next and then the sweetener. The quantity of sweetener will depend on what kind you are using. For the granulated Stevia she is adding two teaspoons to the bowl. Don’t forget to add a couple of pinches of salt to the bowl as well. Put the bowl aside for a moment and then we will prepare the wet ingredients.

Do this in a separate small bowl and start by adding two cups of hot water. Now add two teaspoons of vinegar to the hot water, giving it a quick stir. Note that you will not be using all of this water, so don’t just chuck the whole thing in. We are just making sure we have enough to get the consistency of the dough right.

Bring back the dry ingredients and make a well in the middle. Add in one tablespoon of the oil of your choice into the well you formed. Using a spoon or half cup start adding small amounts of the water to the mixture. Add half a cup, cover the water and start mixing. Keep adding a little bit at a time and keep mixing.

Being careful with the hot liquid you are pouring in start mixing and kneading the dough with your hands. Keep on kneading until it is really well mixed together. Continue adding small amounts of water until the ball of dough have no cracks in it.

When ready gather the dough into a ball shape and place it back in the bowl. Cover the bowl with a layer of clingwrap and leave to rest for ten to fifteen minutes. Now is a good time to start pre-heating the oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

After the 15 minutes get the dough ball. It will look pretty much the same since we are not proving it. It should not change in size but should feel warm and moist. Divide the dough into four portions, in other words this Keto Crusty Bread recipe will make you four buns. Form each portion individually into a ball shape.

Transfer the four dough balls onto a baking tray lined with a baking sheet. She sprinkles some water underneath the parchment to help it stick. Grease the baking sheet with a bit of oil. Once this is done place the dough balls in the tray and press down on them lightly. Coat the top of each bread roll with some more oil. Now sprinkle some of the sesame seeds on top, with the oil helping it stick.

Stick into the pre-heated oven and bake for fifty to sixty minutes. This Keto Crusty Bread takes a bit longer to bake than normal bread but it is worth it.

It is ready to start eating!
